Animoto | Upload photos and sound and create slideshows that resemble a movie trailer. Allows you to embed completed files on a website. Free version allows shows of no more than 30 seconds. For more options, the cost is $30 a year.
ClipGenerator | Allows you to clip portions of Web videos or to upload your own video and photos and convert them into a music video. The site has music to choose from.
Zeodia | A free site for creating slideshows with sound. Allows you to arrange pictures and add a soundtrack, narration and captions. E-mail pictures to the site for uploading or upload them from Picasa.
VoiceThread | Tool for creating online forums about images you upload. Great for out of class discussions on topics. People can add comments in many ways: typing, phoning in, uploading audio files or recording.
280Slides | A free online tool that resembles PowerPoint. Allows you to add text, pictures, shapes, movies and other media. Present from the online version or download to PowerPoint. Also has a “share” function for posting work online.
pptPlex | Created by Microsoft Office Labs, this plug-in gives PowerPoint a zoom function. Free.
Prezi | An online tool like PowerPoint but with such functions as zoom and the ability to embed YouTube video. You create your presentations on a whiteboard and then link the elements together. The site has good tutorials.
Sliderocket | An online presentation tool that allows import of PowerPoint slides and collaboration with colleagues. Free for the basic version, with includes a meager 250mb of storage and a limit of 15mb file size.
Slideshare | Allows you to post PowerPoint slides so that others can view them or download them. Free, but requires signup.
Youblisher | Turns PDFs into a magazine format with turnable pages.
